Fair Price for 2016 Iron?
Gents, looking to pick up a clean, unmolested, Iron. I found a 2016 in Denim Black with 3300 miles that looks like new. Its all stock except a FP3, Vance Hines slip-ons, Ness Big Sucker air cleaner and a Mustang solo seat. Guy has all the stock parts too. It literally looks new…couldn’t find a single scratch or ding. He just doesn’t ride it much…middle aged guy who is into classic cars. He is asking $7950 which seems about right but I was thinking of offering something less. I already own 2 nice Harleys so this is just a 3rd bike…I miss owning a Sportster. Is the price fair? What would be a good deal? $7,000 even?

Thanks guys… he is less than KBB retail $8410 but trade in $6140. If I split the diff, I would be at $7275. But given the condition and mileage, might be worth a little more. I am going to offer $7K and see what happens. Worst case, he says no and stays firm. My guess is he will move some because his ad did not say firm. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Well Gents, I offered him $7,000 and he countered at $7500 and said he had $9300 in the bike. That sounds about right for a 2016 new and a Stage 1. So, I need to decide. I could wait him out a few weeks and see if he changes his mind….I do have 2 other bikes to ride. The thing I appreciate about this one is that its unmolested and is essentially a blank canvas for me.

I don't really feel like you've missed out on anything. I'll be honest with you I paid $4,500 for my 2016 Super Low in 2020 and it was mint with less than 3k on it. Granted I got a steal and they've gone up since then but that wasn't a steal regardless of how nice it was. Easy to find another one at that price just as clean.

I think he's being foolish if he doesn't take the 7k. You were being extremally fair. Good luck.

Yea 7k for that bike is a good offer. I would have offered 6 and MAYBE pay 6.5.
To the guy that bought the 16 low for 4.5... you stole it lol.
I bought a 19 Forty Eight Special with stage 1 and 1200 mi in late 2021 for 8K. Now in CA ... that's a pretty good deal. I hammered him for awhile at 7.5... but he wouldn't budge. In the end 8k was definitely worth it to me.
Be patient and good luck. A great deal will come your way.
