Default Riser Bushing Fail!

My failure to maintain that is. Replaced with new ones today. The old ones were so bad my speedo was close to contacting the tank. $38. and two leisurely hours later back to spec.

I suppose the added leverage the mini apes provided hastened the bushings demise.

I agree, plus I am pretty sure they were the original bushings. 20 years of service regardless of the mileage is pretty good.

Looking at KBB for 2003 Sportster 1200's: they only show two anniversary models. I saw one for sale that doesn't have any anniversary badging on it. Did they make such a bike for 2003? Thank you!

I don't have the answer to your question. I have read more conflicting info on this year bike and the anniversary designation that it makes my head spin. I have a lot of the original paperwork on this one and the fancy gold key that came with it. My first Harley and it's fun to ride. New info. I just checked a vin decoder and it noted that if the eighth digit on the vin is a 4 then it is an anniversary model (2001-2009 model decoder).
