Default Fuel gauge

My fuel gauge low fuel warning light keeps coming on I set off, when the sporty starts up it’s not on, just wondering if anyone has any ideas why this is happening.

If you only have low fuel light this is what's in the tank. The black bit has to float. If it doesn't then the light stays on. If it gets stuck the light will stay on. The switch doesn't go directly to the speedo but via a resistor network. If you have a bad connection there it might also cause the light to come on.

How big is your fuel tank?
