Default The never ending tire question.

First off my apologies fir digging this one up but I am too lazy to go searching through archives.
I have a 2011 48. Will i be able to run 5.00x16 tires on stock wire wheels with no clearance issues? The dreaded classic tire question. Lol

Well my rear tyre is a 150/70 which is around 6" wide on a 4.5" rim so a 5" tyre shouldn't have clearance issues but I don't know about your wheel rim width as to whether the tyre is suitable for that.

Andy is correct. The stock tire size on a 2011 is 150 which is 6" wide so you're actually fitting a narrower tire. I think the pre-2004 bikes ran a 5" stock rear tire.

Thanks fellas, I'm just going to scrap the idea... the few tire choices I'm looking at are just not going to work. I like the stock wheels and I don't plan on changing them. Ultimately I was really looking for sort of square flat lugs as far as style goes. I've ran white walls for years and was looking for a change.
Appreciate your replies. 👍
