Default Clutch upgrade

Will I need to upgrade my clutch for the s&s 1250 kit? If so, any recommendations?

Well there's no way for me to make a guess at it. Don't know what year, OEM clutch or mileage on it.

Oh ****. My bad. 1994 sporty. Unknown miles on the motor. Stock clutch as far as I can tell. I guess the easiest way would for me to ride it and see if it slips. Was just curious if it's common practice to upgrade the clutch with the 1250 kit.

Seems to be SOP to upgrade the clutch on Sporties regardless of year...or displacement...or mileage...

I went with the Screamin' Eagle very early in the game...YMMV...

I don't think you must on a 1991-2003 model, they use the same clutch spring on 883 and 1200. I did not touch my stock clutch when I did the 1250 upgrade on my 1991. No problems with slipping at all. 2004 and later 883 uses a weaker spring, so you must upgrade.
