Default Drilling SE baffles

I had removed the baffles in my SE slip ons and OMG was it loud going to work (and I've been around jet engines and rivet guns since 1984). Fortunately the 2 Highway Patrols, 1 Sherriff and 1 town cruiser didn't stop me. I now have opted for a tweener. The factory holes in the SE baffles are 1/4". I drilled them up to 5/16"and it made a noticeable diff. with still a good sound. I'll give it a week but am already considering a jump up to 3/8.

Any thoughts out there?

That's my next move! How did you go about getting the baffles out? I'm having some trouble getting mine out

I have read on here some people use a slide hammer. I would like to do something with mine, but I can really tell where it's tacked and whether or not the slide hammer would work.

The problem I'm seeing with a slidehammer is having a place for it to grab hold.

Educate me here. I was at the Iron Horse dealder last weekend & their mechanic was telling me you could slide a pipe in the exhaust and tap the cap off with a hammer, then remove the slip on to get the cap out. A fellow standing near claims the caps are now welded on & would have to be drilled. Is this the same area that you are talking about drilling 1/4" holes out to 3/8"? I assume the end cap diverts exhaust into the baffles and now you are straight piping (more or less). Warranty voided? Remap required?
Thanks...

Screamin' Eagle baffles on my bikeare held into place by 2 bolts. It was nothing more than easy access removal and a Snap-On cotter key extrator (bent tip) to slide them out. It was less than 5 minutes.

As for what holes I was oversizing, it was the baffle holes. There are 24 holes per baffle. If you shine yer flashlight up the exhaust chute you can see.

The Mrs with her more sensitive ears said she could notice a big difference in sound. I'm still tempted to oversize them another step.

As for warranty, I don't have one.

From what I read here, they started tack welding the baffles this year. The baffles on my 06 SEII's just slid out after I removed the bolts. not the same on the 07 SE's. Does anyone know where they are welded?
