I was going uphill less than a mile from my house. 10 miles from what shoulda been empty. And she DIED. No warning, throttle coughed, and 2 seconds later nothing but silence. I had to pull over on momentum (uphill) and make sure I wasn't dreaming and crank over to reserve. I didnt have the speed to get reserve and not stop dead. 10 miles from empty! Anyway, I had it running again by the time 4 cars went past, but dammit all that sucked.[:'(][:@][:'(][:@]

 

It's not rocket science. Look at where the fuel line comes out of the tank. If you put the bike on an incline, the little fuel you have left in the tank is going to flow to the back of the tank, away from the pickup.

I read here a while ago that the carb'd bikes can do that going up a steep hill due to the low vacuum of hard throttle shutting off the petcock, don't know by first hand experience though.

The only reason I'm giving you a little slack is because I know you made that sweet little girl on back push your F.A (PM me if you need me to translate that for you) back up the hill so you could get home.
