So, at 5'9" can I ride it and be flat footed or at least be stable at a stop?

I believed the hype about the Roadster suspension and thought the rear shocks were absolutely horrible (for me).
I'm a small guy, a little shorter than you with about the same inseam and tip the scales at about 150 lbs.
With the shocks set all the way at the lightest setting, I'd get bounced off the seat with the slightest bump.
I replaced the shocks with low cost Progressives, lowered the front fork oil level, and used lighter weight oil, and I can now ride it comfortably.
The shocks are 12", compared to the 13.5" stock ones.
You might have a different experience with it, but I've owned dozens of bikes over 60 years of riding, and know what suits me.
As mentioned, the 18" rear wheel also adds some height compared to the 16 on other Sportsters, but I don't know how much.
