Default Aftermarket Air Filters

Has anyone out there replaced thier stock air filter with one of these K&N filters?

I was just wondering if it's worth the $70 dollar investment and if there were any notable improvements in performance. Let me hear all about it.

I'm running one on my 05 , didn't notice performance improvment , but I do like beeing able to clean & reuse it . So I think it was worth it , be carful not to overtighten when installing you can easly damage the vent tubes .

I went with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage 1. Noticeable improvement when running different pipes. Had to re jet but was a snap.

I'm going with the Billet Sucker Stage 2 when I get the cash.
I cant see just replacing the element making much difference considering the size of the stock air inlet. Maybe you can do some mods to let more in.

I'm running a Ness BS now after having an SE AC. Ness performs better than the SE and I like the round. If I were you I would look into buying a Ness for $99 (still need to buy a cover) before I spent $70 on a stock replacment. Of course you will have to remap your 07 since most aftermarket ACs flow more air.

I'mrunning my second one. K&N replaced the first one because the vent tubes broke. The new one has a metal backplate and looks bulletproof. I bought mine from Sorgys and paid about $55.00 delivered.

Is this K&N a direct replacement for the SE A/C? or the stock A/C? (or both for that matter?)

TIA

Yup, it is a direct replacement for either one/both.
