Default Jagg Slimline Oil Cooler Instal

Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has installed a Jagg Slimline Oil Cooler on a 2013 XL883L or earlier but similar model.

Installed mine 2yrs. ago. 06 xl1200c. Can't think if any issues i may have had. Read instructions, check out YouTube and go for it. Rather easy location to work on. I would call it an easy install.

I installed one on my '17 SuperLow a few years ago. I was seeing oil temps on hot (90*F) days at Interstate speeds right at 250*F. After installing the oil cooler under the same conditions I am lucky to ever see 220*F, most of the time oil temps are around 200*-210*F. I would go with Jaggs 4550 oil filter adapter instead of the one that comes with the kit. The 4550 adapter has a thermostat that does not open until oil temps reach around 185*F. That way you are not over cooling the oil. Worth every penny IMO.

I've since added stainless steel braided oil lines.

I used the Jagg cooler as well. I chose to go with black braided stainless hose with A/N fittings.
It blends in with the rest of the black components pretty good...

I asked Jagg why I should purchase the 4550 adapter ( $150 ) over the one in the kit that has an oil viscosity valve that functions as a kind of thermostat. I purchased the slimline from of all places the Walmart web site for $309. Purchased the Jagg black braided 3ft hose kit from Amazon.
