I switched to mid controls on my '11 Custom. H-D use to sell the kits, but probably no longer.
TC Bros has them for your bike. As already mentioned, check the forum classifieds. They show up now-and-then.
Once you get the mids on, you can install the Sportster hwy peg mounts in the forward position to stretch out on the long rides.

Due to H-D changing the rear brake master cylinder from the left to the right hand side in 2014, you'll need to buy mid controls for 2004 to 2013 Sportster models. The brake actuator rod on 2014 to 2021 models isn't compatible with your 2012 Sportster. The gear shift side was unaffected by the change in 2014.
2004 to 2013 rear brake control.

2014 - 2021 rear brake control.

I would love mids on my 48 but nobody makes them. Getting really frustrated since both of my bikes are done as far as I can make them without completely chopping them up and throwing buckets of cash at them. The aftermarket really stopped caring long before harley did for both late Dynas and Sportsters.

It's the right side that will be questionable depending on what exhaust system you have.
The HD mounts aren't cheap... Here's a LH pic showing the difference in 'mid mounts' between
the 'normal' and the 'further forward' version from the 'T' model.
