Estimate on the wrecked Nightster
Got a call from the guy at the dealership today......6100.00.....well, there was some change in there too but that is the bulk of what it will take to get me on the road again.
I am gonna go up there next week and talk about color changes to any and all engine parts that have to be replaced.....

ORIGINAL: HOTLAP
So they are going to fix it then?
See if you can get the insurance money and do it yourself, what you save on labour can go toward some custom extras.

If the insurance company cuts him a check made out to him he will have to sign a waiver stating any previous damage will not be covered in future accidents. So all of the damaged parts will never be covered again if he is unfortunate enough to have it happen again.I pray it doesn't but you never know.

Damn-
Doesn'tthat amount bring itpretty close to a "total loss" decision for the insurance company? Being that it's a new bike, it wouldn't suck to have them just buy it. You could then start new again or buy the salvage, althoughbuyin it backprobably won't be that great a deal, and it'll forever after be stuck with a salvage title (in most states)
Good Luck!

I've delt with insurance companies on more issues than I wish to recall for myself, family, and friends. EVERYTIME I or we told them that we were not satisfied with their offer, that we were demanding such and such, and that we would now be contacting our attorney. Only once did I actually have to contact an attorney, and all he did was write a letter which resulted in full repayment plus suffering damages. EVERYTIME the insurer has come through with a much better offer. EVERYTIME. It is an adjuster's job to low ball you and save their company money. They have alot of wiggle room without even having to refer to their superiors, and litigation is not worth it to them. Do not sell yourself short. Good luck.
