It's all supply and demand ... Right now demand for the Nightster is high and supply is low. That really isn't a bad deal.

On 07's - Black - 11,213OTD no sec.
2 Tone - 11,474OTD no sec. or 11,713OTD no sec. w/$500 in-store gift certificate.
I took the later, because I was able to get $500 in accessories for $239.

I have 5 Harley Dealerships within 25 miles of my house. Noone was budging much, and that was on 07's three weeks before 08's were coming. However, with no changes to the 08 model, down the road I will be much happier that I got the first year of production with this bike for collection reasons.

I wrote inan earlier, different post, that many will consider me a "putz", and will say I am crazy .. they gave me $5,700 trade-in on my 2007 XL883 Low. Could have sold it privately for more, I know. But I'm happy. THe dealer is Harley Davidson of Southampton. We actually live very close to Aldo's in Bernardson, but my hubby has "issues" with them from many years ago so we don't do much business with them. HD Southampton isn't necessarily the cheapest ... in fact I think you have to really make them spell out the "numbers" to you and eventry "haggling" a bit, but they are very nice people, always make us feel "special", the service department is very good. Dave isthe sales person we deal with.

I wouldn't let $1000.00 or so stop me from getting the bike I want.I appreciate that many people here enjoy wheeling and dealing and that's fine, however the willingness of dealers to negotiate depends on the supply and demand in their area.
I'm more about service, I'll pay top dollar for thebike, however when I show up with a problem, I want it fixed immediately, no BS. I also want to be treated like a King, not just another customer.

I don't know if the Nightster are as hard to find as I keep hearing.

There are a number of low mileage Nighsters on EBay, and I would imagine they are showing up in other "Harley's For Sale" areas as well.

There is one on EBay with only 850 miles, and comes with helmet, jacket, and detachable windshield. BIN Price is $10,000.

Another one (shown below) has 1,035 miles, just had the 1,000 mile dealer service using synthetic fluids, and has a BIN Price of $9,100.

I've bought and sold a number of Harley's on EBay, and many times if someone doesn't get their BIN Price they will take a lower cash offer just to make the sale.

Yup, MSRP on my 2007 1200 Custom was 10,515 (alloy wheel & two tone paint)

I paid $9,250 just three weeks ago - a $1,265 discount. No way am I going to pay list or over list for anything in my life just to be the first kid on the block with an 08. Makes zero sense.

Thanks for the help everyone. Called a couple other dealers close by. Looks like that's about as good as I'll get. Decided I'll go ride it on the 28th and if I love it, then just buy it. What the hell, it's just money right?
