Getting ready to go on my first real ride on my 1200c. Any word's of wisdom out there for a newby? Wish me luck, it's been a few since I've ridden seriously.

Take it slow and easy. And keep alert to everything that is happening around you. Don't trust anyone in a cage.

Watch out for the silver citizens out there peering over their steering wheels. You're invisible to them.

Put yourself in the state of mind that "they're all out to kill me" get off onto a good 2 lane country road with little or no traffic. I'd suggest you first find a large parking lot(schools out try that) and do a lot of figure 8s, quick stops and starts.
Get in tune with the new ride and you should be able to ride with confidence and the proper paranoid mind set to survive. Remember the majority of bike accidents occure in the first six months riding (you get pretty rusty after a few years not riding) Good luck, we all need that.

Don't let ANYONE push you out of your comfort zone. Ride your ride, not theirs.

Stay safe and enjoy.
