Ace , I did the same with my son. He's 7 now but his legs are still a bit too short to reach the pegs. I told him we have to hang him by his feet to make them longer ! I put him in front of me for short rides around the neighborhood . He can't get enough. I remember the first ride, as we hit the street off the driveway all I heard over the engine was COOL!!!!! All smiles fromear to ear.It made my day !! Good luck with the pickup .

 

Great he will remember that ride for the rest of his life.

Good story, Ace. I let my 5 year old ride to the end of the driveway with me - he loves it. I also started letting him pull out the choke when I start it and then push it in when its ready. As soon as I say I'm ready to go for a ride he runs inside and puts on pants and shoes and then his helmet so he can go for the 4 second ride to the end of the driveway! I once took him around the block and he was loving it!

I love riding with my 10 year old daughter. She started riding at 7 years old too. Now she ride 200+ miles days with me.

My son started riding with me when he was 8 on my scooter. He didn't like the harley because it was loud. But one day I picked him up from day camp, and low and behold....the harley! I convinced him that the Harley was just a big scooter and he was like..."Well...maybe" and we rode it home...long story short, he now gets annoyed with me if we take the car to the grocery. lol This past spring we put 1,300 on the bike with a trip to Charleston, SC....we stopped at most of the harley shops we went by to get shirts and stuff...he had a blast!! He's been askin where are we going next spring break! lol

I took my 11-year old son on his first ride last week while we were in upstate New York. I rented an '07 Classic and we were supposed to go our for 30 minutes but turned into a 60 mile ride. He had a great time. It was the first time my wife rode with me as well. She and I took a trip to Lake Placid on Route 3 from Watertown, about 135 miles each way and saw some really beautiful scenery. Now the wife is hooked too.

 

Very cool man. My son is only 2 but someday I will get to do the same. Have fun and stay safe.

 

Sweet, my 5 year old baby girl loves going around the neighborhood with me. It's a nice feeling, she waves at all the other kids.
