Hey guys...what is the stock seat that comes on my '06 XL1200c?

 

I believe it's just a plain ol' standard seat made by HD with Sportser embroidered in it. In case you're wondering, it's not one of the premium seats that HD sells as an aftermarket product.

 

If you dont like the seat Harleys Sundowner seat is very comfortable especially for 2 up riding.

 

Oh ok...thanks for the info. I thought it was one of their seats in the catalog but couldn't tell which one it was...none looked like it exactly. It is a leather seat.

I like the sundowner...and I'll probably get one to try it out. Only thing I'm worried about is its alittle taller and alittle wider and I'm already challenged in the inseam department. 5'8" with a 28 inch inseam.

 

That just what it is just a plain ole stock seat. It is fair but there are better ones out there. Although my son and his buddy made it 3450 miles on there XL1200C's to Sturgis. They were shifting around on them seats quite a bit. He has ordered him a Sundowner.

 

Sundowner 269.00 in the cataloge - even w a 25% disc., a coulple hundred bucks and it ain't chrome [sm=boohoo.gif]- my a$$ better like it cause it is top on the SANTY CLAWS list - sorry currently looking at starting the dreaded PMS season (parked motorcycle syndrone)

 

If you're gonna get a new HD seat, get the part number and order it from https://www.chicagoharley.com/ ... it will save you 20% and sales tax.

 

Lotsa folks must like this place, 1200c past this on to me with the recomendation of seat choice a week ago - thinking of showing it to my dealer friends - there awsome and will probably match or beat - will ask if they do mail order for others and will get back to you

 

Actually I just bought the Sundowner used from someone on another forum. They said it was only used for a couple months and in 99% condition. Got it for $140 plus $21 shipping..should be here any day now.

For any of you guys around the Louisville area...found out that the dealer here in Louisville, Bluegrass Harley Davidson will be having a sale the first weekend of December...I think the minimum discount will be 15% and something about throwing darts at balloons for additional discounts. I figured I'd check it out. I have a whole list of stuff I'm about to buy. If I get a good discount I'll buy from there, otherwise I'll get it from Chicago Harley.

 

I'm 5'6" and installed the Sundowner and didn't notice any problem with a raised seat height vs. stock (I have an '05 XL Custom). And, it's REAL comfortable (and my girlfriend agrees) - I just wish I got it when I first got the bike almost 5000 miles ago! I didn't realize how much the stock seat sucked and didn't really believe it could make much of a difference. Sitting is believing!
