RE: why do people get offended so easily?
Last old guy who flipped me off was walking on the sidewalk. I was ridin with my Father inlaw (age 55)who seemed to get more pissed than I did... I just laughed. I'm not a spring chicken by any means, but at the same time I do get annoyed with the antics of the younger generation constantly trying to show off on their bikes.

the older you get the less tolerance you have for ignorance. wait until you have around 30 years experience at a particular job and end up with a crew that has about half of them in there early twentys and green as grass. putting up with that is enough to make anybody a grouchy old bastard

I'm not sure I understand why your are so surprised at his reaction. By your recollection of events ... I bet I know exactly what he was thinking ... Might have been completely unwarranted, but understandable. He can only comprehend your outward actions ... Hehad no way of knowing what was actually going on. To him ... you were just a couple of goofs on bikes doing what goofs do best.

RE: why do people get offended so easily?
A few members of our motorcycle chapter are STILL trying to figure out why we were flipped the bird by a guy riding on the opposite side of the roade on one of those low to the ground 3 wheel bicycles up in a somewhat rural part of Vermont. We were just riding along at the posted speed, and none of us has particularly obnoxious pipes (well, ONE guy's is a BIT on the loud side if he sits at a light and revs it). One of the guys said he wondered what bicyle man's reaction would have been if we'd all turned around and chased him down to ask what his problem was. But then, that would probably have just cemented the guy's obviously low opinion of us. Point is, we were just riding the open air and enjoying the country side same as he was.
