Led turn signals
Hello, I have a 93 sportster 1200 and im trying to get some insight on led turn signals and if the will work on my 93 sportster or if I’ll have to do something else besides basic wiring to get them to work , any advice is greatly appreciated…
need to know if I can install led turn signals on my 93 1200 sportster here. Or do I have to change something around or add something to it in order for them to work

I would not hesitate to spend the money on Custom Dynamics inserts. The are ridiculously bright and the fronts stay white when turn signal is not on. I am very impressed with how much extra light they give off at night. You will need a load equalizer like you already discovered. They are costly, but I have them in both my bikes and will never go with anything else right now,

I bought a pair of LED turn signals for my 2011 Iron 883, they have black powder coated aluminium bodies with seven bright LED's in each unit. I bought them on the aliexpress website for Ł25 per pair including shipping to the UK. Each pair come with three different coloured lenses, two amber, two red and two clear, I used the clear ones on my Iron. Rear units are also available with mounting stalks for Ł30 to the UK. They will need to be spliced into your wiring harness by either soldering or using crimp connectors. As my UK specification Iron has the 3 in 1 rear LED lighting as stock, I didn't need to use a load equaliser. They are suitable for Sportster models from 1992 to 2013.
Here they are on my Iron, you can see just how bright they are in daylight.

You need load resistors and you can buy them from Kuryakyn. I installed 4 on my 1998 and my LED blink fine. You need 2 for sure one for left/right and if that doesn't get them blinking than you need a total of 4. Connect them to the blinker module under the seat that bolts to the rear fender.

Load equalizers are fine, but IMO for less headache since you'll be wiring anyways to just get a new turn signal unit. I got one from Signal Dynamics: https://www.signaldynamics.com/01501/ It's worked great for the past 2 years for me. Simply match up the wires on the unit to your stock loom, and splice away (colors don't match, so you'll need to take a look at a diagram for your bike to match up the functions).
I've used those big heat-sink type load equalizers and thought they were stupid bulky and got unnecessarily hot, makes more sense to just get a unit made to work with LEDs in my opinion.
