Led turn signals

I'm guessing you mean Signal Dynamics? IDK what piece of hardware, no one linked it. I'm just sharing my experience with a product I've actually used. From a quick Google search, it looks like the thing you're talking about doesn't list compatibility on 1996 Sportsters like OP's, unless I'm looking at the wrong product. Looks like they make a ton of stuff. I did use one of their LED pucks on a tail light I made for my bike, good n bright stuff.

For wiring, I have no idea what years are the same...

??? Load Equalizer (s)
Does this installation a req Load Equalizer?

Do the turn signals flash at the correct rate? If they do there must be a load equalizer already installed.
A load equaliser is only installed to prevent the signals from flashing too quickly.

This 17 year old modern-day wiring is all new to me. I haven't found the correct manual for a 2004 Sportster yet. I purchased a Clymer manual on Amazon that said it was for a 04-07 but it wasn't for Sportsters at all.
This bike has more wiring footage under the tank than my previous 68 XLH Sportster had on the whole bike.
Anyway, what's the Load Equalizer look like? What's a TSM look like?

My advice....
Try just the FRONT inserts first.... you don't need an expensive set they are a dime a dozen all over the internet.
If they flash too fast or whatever, go back to original until you get a load equalizer.
If you plan to do both front and rear inserts, get the equalizer first thing.
Again these inserts do not need to be expensive and if they fail get new ones... so easy to install.

They all flash at a moderate rate, not too fast or to slow. When I 1st turn on the ignition switch and the dash lights flash 3-4 times the signals all flash in sync with them. I figure that's a function of the mysterious rectangular box under the seat. I think it's the TSM but havent positively identified it yet.
