I thought the stock seat on mine was fine until I did my first ride over 100 miles and damn that thing sucked. I got a Mustang vintage solo seat and haven't had any *** problems since.
Like someone said before if you are a wuss you probably wouldn't be able to handle the Sportster for touring but I think it's just fine myself.
Farthest in one day was around 1,050 miles. Farthest trip was about 1,700 miles in 4 days. Most of the time I take it out for a ride I like to at least use a tank up (200 miles or so).
Now if I had a passenger on the back things might be different but I ride solo as my wife doesn't want anything to do with my motor scooter. [8D]

The stock seat is not made for long distance riding.I purchaced a Sundowner touring seat, made a huge differance.I've gone 900kms in one day without any problems.
Only if it's uncomfortable for you. There's several of us on this forum that have no problem with the stock seat at all.
No problem. 5'10, 180 lbs.

the longest I went was about 170 miles before my butt was numb and hurt, but the seat was still new. I had the bike for about 4 months and I felt it was starting to break in for me. but my wife doesn't ride a lot but she rides with me enough, shecould only ride about 45 minutes before she had to stop for 10 minutes or so. so I bought a sundowner now she never complainswhen she rides

Longest trip I made on the stock seat was a 4 day ride, total about 1,200 miles. With the Sundowner, I can easily do 12 hours of seat time a day.

I made a short little trip over to the mountains last week, did about 900 miles in 2 days.

We agree again. I'm replacing my seat with a Sundowner.

I have a Mustang seat on mine, which never hurts my *** even after many hours. But seats aside, I find that I tire after long blasts on the highway - must be the wind or something because after a few hundred miles I get pretty damned tired. Also depends on how much sun I'm soking up. I try to stop for water breaks when possible.

But a couple of hours on the backwoods twisties is nothing to me. Hours and hours of fun...in comfort on a Mustang seat.

My commute to work is 6 miles one way and most days I can't stand the stock seat.

I don't have any problem on my "I think its stock" seat (was on there when I baught the bike). Went on a 300 miles one way Sat and rode half the night after arrivung then returned the next morning, no problems. Like someone said earlier, gotta stop every 150 miles for gas anyway...thats a break.

Like I said, I think this is a stock seat...posted that question with pics earlier today https://www.hdforums.com/m_2018188/tm.htmwhich I guess no one knowing by the looks of it. It has the HD emblem underneatth?!?
