Default Which progressive rear shock iron 2014

Hi everyone, well iron 2014 , I ride on rough roads ,I weigh about 185 lbs. Usually solo.
So which progressive shock would you recommend and the length , Should i go a bit longer ?
I am a cruiser type rider not a boy racer, But i do have to dodge cars and trucks etc in Medellin traffic
and some seriously deep potholes.
Putting progressive springs on the front.
I am not worried about trying to be low to the ground, i think height is better.
Thanks Mike

Do NOT buy the heavy duty version of those shocks - the only difference between them and the standard 412 shocks are the springs. The standard springs are already a little too stiff, and the heavy duty ones are way too stiff for a normal person. What length shocks are on the bike now?

11 inches sorry...does anyone know if all the 412 series fit sportsters? I am trying to match up the numbers for the part on Amazon.
I have the progressive page open and trying to get the same number , otherwise i get the message , does not fit your bike.

Sorry I did not get to you before you bought. Going up that high in the rear did change how my front end handled. Mostly at higher speed cornering. Even after I slid my front forks as high as they would go in the tree.
If you find handling has been sacrificed you can just do lowering blocks to bring rear down an inch or so. Easy install.
You may need a longer kick stand as bike will lean over more. So don't park in dirt or you may find your bike taking a nap when you get back to it.

But if you're on rough roads 13/13.5 is the minimum to get a decent ride. So let us know how you make out.

Yeah, going 2.5” longer in the rear will not work well if you have a shorter front end. Unless you plan on raising the front end up a bit, too, you should try to cancel that order and go for some shocks a little shorter.

OP is better off keeping the taller shocks in dealing with the front end. He mentioned he rides on rough roads. Anything shorter than 13 isn't going to do squat.
