Default Front brake question for you mechanically inclined individuals

I think I am having some manner of problem with my front brakes. A few days ago the front brakes started to feel different. The braking does not feel as smooth as it did before and the lever does not seem to be pulling back as far. Plus when you are pulling back on the lever it sort of feels like it is trying to push itself back out, at least that is the best way I can describe it.

I haven’t got the chance to take off the caliper and inspect the brake pads yet but looking at them from the outside they seem to have plenty of pad left. The rotor does not have any obvious defects.

What should be my next action here if the pads do not appear to be damaged?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If it brakes fine and the lever does not feel mushy indicating air in the line then it's fine. You could always just bleed the brakeline and see if it feels better.

Maybe you have had an air bubble in there allthis timethat has just now worked it's way up to the reservour and now the lever feels like it should have all along.

I think I read in my manual somewhere that the caliper slide pins should be inspected and or replaced every four years. That is where I would start if not still under warranty.

Sounds like maybe the brake line needs to be bleeded, and the fluid replaced.

Sounds like theproblem is in the hydralics and agree with sportypig that you should bleed the front brake line.
