Does it fit well on your 2017 XL1200T? I installed it and it is very loose. Much of clearance in front and below, and it rattles. Stock seat fits much tighter.
Video of loose sit:

Copied these two pictures from another items on e-bay.
So, type 1 does not fit properly on my XL.
Does type 2 fit? Its bottom looks more similar to the stock seat.

The video of the loose seat just looks bad. I would not want that on my bike!
Hope you can send it back.

The gap on my seat is smaller. The bracket at the back is held by moulded plastic stubs. I think that seat with screws is because the plastic got broken.

Seat number 1 might be for 2007 to [not sure] where the ECM was mounted in the fender. There is a bigger gap in the material and a different way for the strap fitting.

Thanks! Apparently, older model comes with bolt-mount bracket, and newer with bracket on plastic guides. Also, tray shape is different in many details.
And the newest option is two-piece (again with bolts):

I removed it immediately. Considering my location, better way is to try selling it here on the online flea market.

Thanks for pictures!
Plastic tray is different too. It seems that old version comes with bolts, then next - with plastic guides, and then latest split version - with bolts again. And front bracket of latest seat version is plastic.
I see that your seat shows some underneath hardware a bit more than stock seat.
