I did a video of the Mustang Vintage Solo when I bought it about two years ago (they do a dual version too):

I like the backrest a lot, but the seat it too hard for me. I sat on a Sundowner once and LOVED it. I would have gone for that but there's no rider backrest on a Sundowner. I'd go with Sundowner today, and bodge-up a backrest...

Cheers,

Chris

Does is make compatibility difference, or just visual appearance of the saddle front end: one narrower, another wider?
Make sure you get the correct version. The seats are different at the front for the differing lengths of the tanks.

Trying to figure out. It seams that even sellers do not know what do they sell For example: "04-06 & 07-20 OEM Harley Sportster Sundowner Seat 4.5 Gal Tank" on ebay, as p/n for that item: "51736-07" , which is for 2.2-3.3 gal version.

And official dealer price is $585 for 2-up Sundowner here

With the stock seat on a 2017 Superlow the width of the pillion pad was just the right width to hit a pressure point. The Sundowner is a couple of inches wider and made a huge difference.

Tried to fit myself on passenger seat. That's the root of problem: passenger part it is very short along its length, especially due to backrest with pad. Therefore, I will buy a new seat and reclined or further back sissy bar without pad.

I got 2-up Sundowner seat off ebay. Base plate has much cracks, despite item was described as "in excellent condition".
I see now that many Sundowner seats listed on ebay have similar cracks, or without bottom side photos, or have fuzzy pictures of bottom side. Does it happen so often with Sundowner seats?
Photos are under spoiler.
Also, one more question. I have seen that some sundowner seats have rear bracket mounted in some plastic slot, and others, like mine, with two bolts.
Considering locations of these bolts, are they not going to scratch the rear fender? Either should I put some soft padding there?
Spoiler
