RE: Need your thoughts on a wierd situation
THANK YOU!!! What he said------^!!! Maybe it's just because of the line of work that I think New2Harley and I are both in, but I never let somone wanting to buy a car/bike from me meet at my house.
Have him meet you at your local HD dealer, he can ride it after he pays for it. Have the shop techs there peek at it real quick if he wants to make sure it's in good shape, but he would not be riding it without money in my hands if it were me.
Other than that, I have heard Harley doing that before. Go for it!

I work at an Independant car dealer... we have done this once or twice as well. people do this when they don't have the money or great credit and can get financed for a higher interest rate...or are preapproved with that dealers financing.
Not to beat a dead horse but go to the dealer with him and do the deal... It's a win win win situation...

Yeah, meet him at the local Harley dealership and go for it! If he has to finance the bike, that means he doesn't have the cash on hand to buy it outright, but he wants your bike! You get your asking price from HD, HD makes money on the deal, and the new owner gets a sweet ride at a price he's happy with! I'll also echo the others sentiments about giving a stranger the keys to your ride and a full tank of gas to disappear with it without adequate collateral!

I'd do it, but go to the dealer to meet the guy dude. If you're ready to sell, make sure that you fully recover your investment too. All those little custom jobs you've done. It can't be all thatoften that someone is so keen on your bike, that they go to all this trouble...
