RE: crazy clutch?
Well I'm far from a tech, but I read in a recent thread on hereit has to do with a wet clutch or something like that and that it is normal for the bike to be hard to move when it hasn't been ran and is still in gear, even with the clutch pulled in. If its any consolation mine does the same thing.

RE: crazy clutch?
It's normal. As long as the clutch isn't draging when you pop the tranny in gear while running, your clutch is set properly. Basically what happens, is oil is saturated in the discs of the clutch, with the engine not running, the discs tilt very slightly due to the oil between the plates and also simply because their's no centrifical force to keep the discs paralel causing excess clutch drag. Some bikes it's are worse than others, type of oil, type of clutch plates and friction discs can all affect it as well. Most wet clutch bikes will do this, but there are the occassional bike that just roll completely freely, so i gaurantee some people will tell you that your clutch needs adjustment, but it's not the case, it is in fact normal. So like I said, if your clutch isn't dragging when you throw it in gear, your cable is most likely adjusted properly.

I remember a couple of bikesat one of the HDdealers that were like that. It's while I was doing the butt test on them. They really didn't want to move unless they were in neutral. I asked the salesperson about it.He wasn't sure if that was normal or not.[sm=confused06.gif]
I was going to slightly tighten up my clutch cable yesterday. Man, after reviewing the service manual, it seems like a pretty big deal. And you need a replacement ring (gasket).
What happened to the good ol' days when you justadjusted the knurled **** by the clutch lever? <----of course, wasn't aHarley
