I ran out of gas once.

 

I ran out of gas a few times because of the cheap **** stock petcocks HD runs, Ihaveapingle now.
well worth the benji... Other than that just tires and oil and tighten the bolts well i had a few wires go bad and some cables..... I think it would all fall under routine maint.

 

I got my 03 this spring. It had all the service records and, other than prescribed maintenance, the only repair was for a flat rear tire. I just had the new tach replaced (for free) because it was defective - genuine HD part, made in China! I hope things stay this way.

 

My 1200R was in the shop for 3 weeks cause the rocker covers leaked oil. Since the engine is black it really showed. Anyway, the dealer kept ordering the cover but would recieve the wrong one from the factory! They did this 3 times!!! Harley finely changed the part number cause of me. Now I think there is a change to metal gaskets or something like that to fix the leaks. Why is it always me!...

 

You are right J W. I have been around Harleys since I was a kid. My dad's 68 Sportie and his other Harley's never gave him grief until he took a national ride on his 2000 Softail. During the ride all around the country, he had to take it in 5 times. I guess it goes to show that Harley's temperment is kinda like a family member. Most of the time they make you happy, but every once every so often, they can be a pain in the butt.
