Boot Soles Melting on Exhaust

Boot Soles Melting on Exhaust
I've run in to a little problem with my wife's boot soles leaving marks on my exhaust when we ride 2 up. I think she's rubbing against it during dismount on the hot pipes, but I'm not sure. I've got a couple of questions with regards to my hot little dilemma. First off, how can I clean the markings off my pipes? I've tried goo- gone, windex and chrome wax /polish without success. Secondly, is there a solution to this problem other than getting a new wife?
Just kidding about the wife part!

I've read on here to use oven cleaner. just warm up the pipes and spray on, let sit few seconds and wipe off. just dont get it on the paint.

Do NOT go after the burnt on rubber when the pipes are HOT. Let the pipes cool and spray on WD40 and then scrub off with #1000 Steel Wool. This will not scrape or scratch your pipes. DO NOT use the steel wool dry. You must use the WD40. I have tried the easy off trick and it works a little bit but WD40 works much better and is safer. If you go after the pipes hot you could damage the chrome.

Never had the problem, can't help you out there, but did have a suggestion...
"getting rid of wife usually involves divorce (way to expensive), death,(time in jail means no Harley rides, not worth it).
Try making her ride barefoot. I think she will only touch the pipe once or twice and become aware its extremely hot, and not repeat it! Not only that there would be the added savings of not having to keep buying more boots.
Just a thought from a cheap Scotsman.
