Default Replace the piece or the whole part?

I kinda wanted to stay with the OEM part but open to something very impressive, maybe digital? If I keep it I was wondering if I can just get the piece attached with screws or do I have to replace the whole part. If anyone wants to recommend what they feel is an impressive alternative I just ask that it be American made OR metal, not plastic.

Just to clarifiy, exactly which is it are you wanting to keep vs replace?

- the guage
- the mount
- the indicator lights/bezel

Ronnie's HD microfiche is a valueable resource to look up part numbers.

Here's how I did mine, I used a Joker Machine top clamp with integral "dash lights".
The old-style mount with an HD combo speedo/tach guage & momentary button for
the garage door opener....

thanks,

T.

Also it'd be helpful to know exactly what year & model you are working with ?
I watched your video from your other thread, but it didn't indicate that info either.

thanks,

T.

Hey WKNDS, can you look at the tachometer diagram for my bike as a second set of eyes? I’m trying to see if the rubber boots for the lightbulbs are available separately. What I’m seeing is that the bar they go into doesn’t come with them, and if I’m correct it seems like I can only get them on the full light harness which I don’t need but may have to get if that’s the case.

That appears to be the case, the rubber boot part numbers do not show up on any HD-parts websites I have checked.
The entire harness (#68813-04A) does not either, only the newer 68813-07 shows up and it will not work in your '06.

I think you're going to have to try aftermarket sources like Drag Specialties....

good luck,

T.

Yep, you guys are confirming what I’m seeing. Gotta love the eBay guy $32 “free shipping”, lol. Thought I could just get boots but ok. I really appreciate you guys, thanks.
