Nightster Slip-on mapping necesarry?
I was told that I could put slip-ons on my 07 Nightster without changing the filter or remapping, due to the fact that the O2 sensors will correct automatically. This sure would be nice since I am only looking for louder sound and not increased performance performance. The dealership wants to charge over $1100 to do the whole shebang. Can anyone out there confirm this please? Thanks.

RE: Nightster Slip-on mapping necesarry?
Remap is only recommended by Harley with the SE stage 1 A/C.
My nightster ran rich from day 1.Never ran smooth at low speeds. At 1st service I added SE stage 1 A/C,SE slip ons,and dealer remap. Bike ran good at speed ,but still ran like crap around town, low speed.
I ended up getting a Thunder max efi module w/auto tune. Bike runs fantastic Now!!! low speed and hi speed ,the throttle response is phenomenal as well

I've personally done slip-ons for a person and seen the dyno map. The EFI adjusts the same as stock. It will run as good (or as bad depending on your opinion) as it did before the change.
That being said, adjusting to 14.7:1 makes for a hot engine. I believe most people would be happier with a Power Commander and a good dyno tune (by a real tuner, not a dealership parts changer).
