Another thumbs up on the RoadKing shocks. I had progressives on mine and went with the RK shocks a couple of months ago.
I'm 170 lbs and run 0 psi solo and 10 psi with my 130 lb wife on the back.

I have the same bike same year and have done quite a bit of research in this area. I cannot tell you WHAT shock to get, but I can tell you, you need to have the sag set correctly to get a smooth ride.
when sag is set correctly the shock is compressed a little bit when your sitting on it and will move in either direction (up or down when your riding) and this will give the smoothness ur looking for.
BUT if your springs are too stiff you will not get a good sag.
AND the oil and/or air inside the shock controls how fast the shock compresses and expands, again this affects smoothness.
So I cannot tell WHAT shock to get all I can say is these are the factors that control smoothness.

Me, just bought a used set of 13.5 rear shocks taken of a 2016 1200CX, some say these will be harsh, but I'm looking for more travel and a sportier ride. I'm 185 lbs close to 200 or more with gear, I have saddlebags, backrest and luggage rack and am installing a longer damper rod in the fronts but gonna stay with stock spring for now... might get Ricor Intimidators later on...we'll see

Good luck, let us know how it goes 👍🏼

You can't go wrong with the touring air shocks. Best bang for the buck by far. I have them on the Dyna and the Sporty if that tells you anything.

You may already know this, but the Road King/Street Glide shocks are air-over-oil type shocks.
They are not true "air spring" shocks like the Legends or Arnott versions with a compressor....

Just my opinion, get a used set, change the oil (many YouTube videos on this) and you are
good to go. Probably the best ~$100 I've spent on an HD part (granted they were used).

good luck,

T.

this is all good stuff

I'm ordering Shovel covered shocks for my Sporty Bobber. Has anyone else done this? Love the Japanese look on the big twins and am going to try and work it into my build

This is going to sound like a stupid question but, whats the air pump look like or is this a put air in each shock thing?

Found these new. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-Tour...UAAOSwGHdfqqSH

Here's an example of the hand-pump.
Amazon Amazon

Most folks run the hoses to a common "manifold" with a schrader valve, that way
the air pressure applied to each shock is the same.

Here's a pic of where I located mine;

Would either one I listed in the post above fit my 2013 1200C?

Either of those will fit - proabably need some spacers to clear the belt guard.
Note that the top link (chrome one) is not a true Harley Shock, made by MidUSA.
The second is appears to be a new old stock set.

These are the 12 inch "lowering" version. You would get a more suspension travel
and better ride out of the 13" versions. Steeper cornering angles too.

good luck,

T.

Where did you get the air lines from? I put a bid on a used set of 54565-97A's but would like to replace the lines.
