Default Fuel line

I have a 1997 883 Sportster & the fuel pipe has degraded & collapsed. Anyone used any fuel line other than genuine as this seems really expensive @ around £37.00. Cheers all.

I use aftermarket all the time. I refuse to purchase over priced things like fuel line from the dealer

I replaced my stock one (my fault, I kinked it) with a Drag Specialties one.
Works fine (and mine is EFI). Carb applications are not high pressure.
You should be able to get a fuel rated hose section from your local parts supply
pretty cheap.

good luck,

T.

Is your petcock on the right or left? Maybe you have the wrong tank and/or petcock. My right side petcock just has a simple drop to the fuel inlet. Later bikes had left side petcocks that I assume had the petcock spigot point across to the carb. Maybe not. Post up some pictures so we can see what you're dealing with.

+1 on aftermarket fuel line, I use the standard layered black 1/4" stuff.

Its all original, tap on the left outlet, is straight down then has to turn sharp, to go over the top of the inlet manifold to the carb. May have to bite the bullet & get the original. Thanks everyone.

I'll have a look at mine later today . I don't recall any sharp bends .
