I have had the pump out of my partner's Sportster three times to get the tank painted and corrected.

It is not hard but something of a heads-up the wiring is fixed in a special plug that I cannot figure how to get out. It maybe just not possible so be careful to not damage the wires.

I wasn't sure about the connector on the tank either so I disconnected the other end near the battery. It seems like the pump will only fit back in the tank hole when inserting at a certain angle. Just go slow and don't force it you will eventually find the correct angle.

Guess I'm gonna grab a tuner for his bike now, I wish I could just use a license for the power vision or TTS that I have for my 2019 CVO SG but I see the sportster uses a different one.

If you have the blue dongle (not black), you can get your Mastertune license & dongle updated for
two bikes for like $200. I have two different cables, one for the Sportster(J1850) and one for my Softail (CANbus)
Works great on both.

Ok thanks, I have a blue one that I no longer use but it was for my 2019 cvo, I don't have cables so that would be about $50 more so I would be in it for about 250, I will probably just buy a power vision for it since I can get that less that $400
