The only bagger I would consider would be the EVO 80 (1340cc) because it is ALMOST as good as a Sportster. More torque at low end, lower top speed and still low-tech enough for a DIY rider to wrench on and enjoy it with having to "re-map" anything.
.
The post you quoted was no doubt a reference to the recent threads by (the now-banned) Mark Winchester.
All of them had the common theme, "Sportsters are the only TRUE Harleys, baggers are all turds ridden by fat old men".
Got it, thanks for pointing that out.
For the record, I actually don't feel that way by any stretch. I actually could care less what bike someone rides, if that is what they like or what they can afford than so be it.
I was simply posting what was said in the article with the focus (in my mind at least) that I was referenced which I thought was pretty cool.
Being a fat old turd, I wonder if I still qualify to ride a Sportster. Am I required to turn my bike in and get a squatty bagger? And my Sportster patch on my leather jacket, would that have to go, too? I'm worried now.

I'm fat and feel old but keep riding mine.
Of course I do have my 96 Heritage Softail that I put a few 100 miles on last year ...
