Default Continued Nightster issues

Good evening Gentlemen,

I am making this post as it has been over a year since my last and I have encountered little improvement in my previous situation.

After failing to fix the issue last year, the bike sat until september this year, where I then took the entire top side apart to find the problem. I replaced all the gaskets and seals, got a new battery, and made sure everything was put pack to spec and... It worked! Without a hitch it ran like new for 2 weeks.

Then one day, it started, ran for a few seconds, then died. I noticed that the rear cylinder was now suspect. It wasnt firing properly, raw gas was coming out of the pipe, and the head was cold. I check that I was getting spark, there is good compression, battery is charged, but there is one thing that is weird and I cant figure out: when I checked the front cylinder compression, I ran the engine with the spark plugs removed. Well the rear cylinder sprays gas out of the spark plug hole when when checking the front one. When checking the rear cylinder the front does not do this. This leads me to believe that the rear fuel injector is the problem. Maybe flooding the engine with too much fuel? But I dont know exactly how. Is it electrical? Is it a dirty/stuck injector? Is it a timing issue? Or am I completely off base?

Sorry lads, forgot the bike info. 2008 Sportster Nightster 1200. Ill definitely swap the injectors tomorrow.

What year bike , more info needed to be able to help you more .

You could try swapping injectors , then you would know for sure , if that is the issue .

Afteroon yall, I just got around to the bike after some work. I inspected the injectors, they seemed fine and clicked when tested, and moved the rear one to the front and visa versa. I then performed another compression test and gas is still spraying out of the rear cylinder spark plug hole. Not sure what to make of this as it seems to not be an issue with the injectors. Perhaps an issue with the wiring to that injector?

Next course of action would be checking your bike for error codes , which should be done anytime a problem shows up . If there is a problem with the wiring , one should pop up .
