Relative to the stock bars on the 1200C, I want my hands slightly wider, about 4" higher, and about 4-5" toward me. What mini-apes are best? What are the stock apes on a WG?

Pics, prices, and part numbers if anyone has any.

Thanks.

I'm planning on putting on some mini apes this winter. I got the retarded looking buckhorns right now and I really hate them!

I replaced the stock bars on my 2005 1200 Custom with Ape hangers, not too high (although I wish I went higher), about chest high.

For me this made a big difference in handling, and it just looks good.

Of course, the cabling had to be replaced, which was upgraded to the braided style.

Take a look at some pics:

ORIGINAL: Thumper26

I have seen ape hangers with a 10", 12", 14" and 16" rise. Now 16 inchers are what I call ape hangers!
18", 20" and 24" apes.

They look good. Do you have a part number for those bars? I want to do the same thing. I might do a different riser too. Your bars look about right. Do you know about how much the bars and cables ran total?

I have had mini apes, full apes, and buck horns. Im now a drag man. I guess im too tall for apes, they make my back hurt after ridding a while. I do like the look though.

go with the 12.5-13" original apes from flanders basiclly a fxdwg bar with nice bends and chrome. these have a narrow center so works great on a sportster. flanders makes a great quality bar check them out http://www.eaglemotorcycle.com/ClassicBendsNew2.asp
