Default 1967 Sporty?

I have an oppritunity to buy a 1967 sportster from a local guy up here in Canada. And I am just looking for some info and ques. I can ask this guy about the bike. I have an 1986 sportster, but am looking for a project bike. It is a right hand shift?? I didn't know HD put out right hand shifts. I would imagine parts would be very hard to come by for bikes this old. Am I right?

Any info you guys could give me about this year of bike would be helpful.

Thanks, Scooter

Parts would be far and few. It might become a real problem trying to assemble all the parts you might need.

Parts can be found.. With the internet and all, you may have to dig, but they are there.. Here is a link:

Parts are easy. Right side shift on all '75 and earlier Sporties. Hadda be right side 'cause the left foot was on the ground while whooping it up on the dirt tracks!

Parts: not too many OEM or NOS, but lots of new replaceemnts can be found ; try www.jpcycles.com./ You could build one entirely from parts!
