I wouldn't trip on the exhaust, we're just gonna pull it anyway...

LOL you are prob right, I was just trying to be optimistic.

As for the custom, I agree, its butt fugly. I still like the simplicity look of the air cooled HD, and this model above, is as close as you'd get with the improvements. Most new bikes are way to "busy" looking for my tastes. Take the Ducatti's, I like their numbers, but where's the freaking engine? No thanks. In reality, 100hp would be more than 90% of us ever want to twist a throttle hard with, but if it has more, all the better.

And for the livewire, I watched the first episode of Long Way Up, and hated, hated the sound. I am not convinced there is any way to disguise how ugly the Livewire is. Nothing about it appeals to me. I know I am old school, but electrics turn me off. Long rides on the sportster? My last ride, before I sold it off was Ft Bragg, CA, to Santa Margarita, Ca, 325 miles. Me and the bike were fine. Granted its not like my Ultra, but I was not beat to death either. A 200 mile ride on a sporty is no big deal, unless you have 11" shocks and a bicycle seat on it, like some do. Mine had a proper touring seat on it with 13" shocks in the rear and R model dampers.

Power and smoothness would be a different conversation though. A high revving 130+ hp bike would be a nicer animal.

That thought did occur to me, lol. If I ever stepped down from my ultra, that would be a bike I would give a serious look at, for sure.

Some pics to add Silver one looks legit.
These look like the Sportster and the VROD had a baby.

I get your point but LEVEL II charging should be included at 30 K

I thought day one, when HD came out with the Vrod engine, it should have been in a sportster. HD would have had another industry leader and a HUGE leap ahead of the competition. These current pics could easily be morphed into an adventure bike, a touring bike or as is for a cruiser.

After doing some research, I think my 13k might be darn close after all. Sadly, I think the days of us doing most or all the work on our own, will be gone.

Better investment, better looks, plenty of power.
