Default Remove Oil Lock From Right Fork

I have a 16' Iron. I purchased some new cartridges for my front end and Im taking my forks apart and emptying them of all contents. Everything came out of the left fork ok. However the oil lock is stuck in the right fork. My bike has low mileage so my fork seals are fine and I was hoping I wouldn't have to take them apart. Is taking the fork tube out of the slider the only way to get the oil lock out?

No "grate" in the left fork below. Probably answering my own question.

Does the "grate" just pull out?

You post a lot of new threads rather than trying to keep one continuous thread going!
Kinda makes it hard for people to follow.
Just my 2 cents.
