Default 08 Sportster Mid Axle

I have an 08 sportster XL1200C, and I noticed while changing out the air intake that the middle axle was coming loose. I haven't worked on it, or loosened it whatsoever myself.

Assuming it just vibrated itself loose, does anyone know the torque spec on the middle axle?

Wheels have axles, which go right through them from one side to the other, so I'm guessing you are talking of either a stud or a screw. Check this website, where you may be able to identify the part you are referring to, so you can use it's actual name. That will help us greatly to better help you!

Its just labeled as bolt, its the bolt that goes through the rear fork swingarm. Its number 9 in the picture i believe.

Fork, rear, pivot/engine mount bolt 60-70 ft-lbs 81.4 - 95.0 Nm

It is a critical fastener and should be checked every 10,000 miles (16000 km)

Post 4 summed it up.

Why it came loose?
I'd say not a problem.
Mine have come "loose" before too.
It is just one of those bolts that need to checked on an XL along with the left side front motor mount bolt (bolt goes through bracket into head).
