Oldie but Goodie - Top End Noise Issues
Greetings,
Just wanted to get your opinion on the top end noise I am experiencing. Of course, I know my sportie isn't exactly a quiet beast, but this noise really is out of the norm.I have 32k on '05 883C. Noise started around a hundred miles or so agolate last week. I thought it was coming from the primary, but that was nothing out of the ordinary. Noise got particulary louder around the front top end, similiar to what others have described as marbles inside the crankcase. Checked the plugs and they looked somewhat pail/dry, but not wet at all. Messed with the carb and noise is not as loud, but still very noticeable (sounds like a diesel engine idling). Still runs great and with no loss of power, just scary and annoying! Starts right up, no smoke, no stumbling, just sounds as though it is going to explode as I begin to accelerate.
Could it be a rod?
Oil pump malfunctioning?
Any ideas?
PS: I tried looking for posts in the general discussion area but was unable to find what I was looking for. I also checked the manual (thanks to the forum member for posting) but to no avail.
Regards,
Izzy
