Why do you want a chain?
Old school look, less power loss than a belt, I like the look but am not willing to do the maintanence.

The only reason I would change is because of the cost of a new belt......but if hopefully a belt last 70,000 miles wtf!

Yup, 1 7/8" but LEFT HAND THREAD (backwards) clockwise to remove. I used an impact wrench on mine. Came off slowly, as they had lots of locktite on it.

Well... say what you will... but sprockets and chains wear out too...

Not to mention all the maintenance a chain requires... which is more than squirting a little oil on the surface of chain...

But hey go for it... this is just my opinion... with it and about $ .95 you can get a cup of coffee...

yeah, it's a 1-7/8 nut with lefty threads as stated. And a good impact wrench is the easiest way to take it off and it does come off rather slow, I just changed my belt sprocket for more teeth last month. I've heard others that took it off using a 10ft peice of pipe as a breaker bar, and still were barely able to get the nut off, so impact wrench if you can get your hands on one.
