I have a 2008 sportster with a 2007 rear wheel.Im using the 1” axle for the wheel which an 07 uses vs 25 mm for 08. The torque spec on an 07 for axle nut is 65 ft lbs and the 08 is 95-105 ft lbs because the 08 has a hollow axle and 07 has a solid. I’m thinking I should use the 07 axle nut torque spec 65 ft lbs right?

If you want to . As long as it dosen't drop off I wouldn't worry about it . I would only use a torque wrench on cylinder head bolts and camshaft journals and that is to avoid over tightening .

Drop off?....you have to torque axle nuts. It’s a critical fastener . If ya over tighten it the bearings will seize up
