20 pounds? My old lead/acid wet battery on my 1991 was 14 pounds max, still substantial. My Shorai weighs about 2 pounds.

What year Sportster has a 20 pound battery?

Never used a tender.
A "new" bike fitted with alarm system and keyless ignition unfortunately flattens a 12Ah AGM battery in around 14 to 16 days. Using a tender or some form of charger is not an option.

Lithium is excellent in that it doesn't suffer the same kind of self discharge lead acid does.

AGM maintenance free lead acid batteries are much better than the old flooded lead acid batteries but not available when your 1991 was born.

Last year I left my `16 Road King in a storage unit for about 75 days (during a move), it was not on a tender, and I had not disabled the security system.

When I finally got back up north to pick it up, I was expecting to have to push it up into the trailer, but it fired right up without any hesitation.

Yep, that's why a lithium battery is perfect for my bike. Not to mention the weak battery tray/oil tank mounts on earlier bikes. No drain, no strain.
