I put a solo seat on, and now my body is closer to the pegs. I have to assume all solo seats are like that because of the location of the back screw. Is that true?

 

Not necessarily. There are solo seats that move you forward, some move you back. For me, I moved my riding back by tearing my seat apart, shaping the foam to fit my butt and putting it all back together. Now I have a very comfortable solo seat that has me in the perfect riding position. Best of all....it only cost me time and a few staples.

I have a c&C solo seat and it moved me back some.

 

i have the lepera bare bones seat and it moved me back, but i had the sundowner on before it (so it moved me back compared to the sundowner.) I've never had the stock seat on.

 

I just traded my bare bones for a sundowner because it moved me forward? The sundowner does sit you a little higher but actually moved me back compared to the barebones which I went forward over stock even.
I ended up sitting on the very back lip of the bare bones and after a nice 10 hour stop & go cruise I hurt for hours afterI don't have that problem with the sundowner. I am buying another solo eventually [&:]

 

The Mustang wide vintage solo I just got a couple weeks ago moved me back and up. Might move the handlebars a little for a better fit. I'm done striving for buns of steel. Ready to settle for iron! This seat's already proven good for a long day and many miles. . .

 

My corbin solo moved me back.

 

Make sure you didn't get a "reach" seat. They are designed to move you forward. I just bought a LePerea bare bones from a guy on eBay. I'll let you know how it works out. Hoping it will push me back some. I am 5'10" and need a little more strech in the legs. I have an 06 1200C.
