How that you finally got an AMERICAN work of motorcycle art make yourself a promise to NEVER EVER sell it. & Learn from countless others mistake as ^ previously posted your not missing or will gain anything from getting a Softtail or larger HD. The Sportster is the perfect motorcycle. Not too small or slow" not too big or heavy, just right. Perfect. I hope you enjoy your Sportster as much as I love mine.

I honestly think HD had no idea how successful they were going to be with the Sportster & it's perfection is THE reason why it's STILL in production. I must be right since they've dropped EVERY other model model since 1957 except the Sportster.
I agree. I would like to see an slightly upgraded Sportster but they shouldn't cancel / replace it. Unfortunately, they don't even call it "Sportster" anymore. It's in the "street" category. As if they have "dirt", "water" or "snow" categories as options, haha. Would be cool to have a slightly longer swing arm, little more suspension, and larger tanks but the core design and power to weight ratio needs to stay.

I don't think there's anything that needs to be done to it. It fills a demand for a basic high performance HD the same as its done since 1957. The motor is the best design they have IMO. There's nothing I'd change on my XLC 1200 if I could.
