Been riding Honda and Kawasaki for 15 years and this is my first Harley. 2007 1200L. Picked her up a few weeks ago.13 years old with 175 original miles. The previous owner had the dealer add some chrome and exhaust when they bought it but never rode it.

I'd love some advice on forward controls and a windshield.

How do you like the rearsets? Do you feel squished at all? Wondering as I would like to get a set with drag bars or clipons but I am 6'3" and already a bit squished with forward controls.

I am 5"10' and the bike is comfortable. The stock peg position was lousy. The pegs were wise enough that at long trips at Freeway speeds the wind was making me us my leg muscles to keep my legs in position and interfered when I put my feet down at a stop.. The seat is a inch taller than stock.
Go to Cycle Ergo to find how out proposed modifications will effect how you sit on the bike.

Mine 2008 Sportster 1200 Custom ... bought it stock and it went through some transformations and performance mods as you can see... I think I am settled on the mini-bagger incarnation for long rides now ... bought a Yamaha FZ6 a couple of years ago for shorter rides ...

Started life like this all stock

version 1

version 2

Final

Thought about selling a couple times but just can't do it. Too much fun and I still look back at it everytime I walk away.

Really like the low zbars. Sharp looking bike.
