This is one versatile desert-dwelling off-road machine with a venomous side.

I like the fact that a wrecked Sportster was able to be ridden again, and for a new purpose.

I say it all the time, but I think the MoCo is missing out on a huge market by not making a bike this from the factory. It's almost like they aren't listening! Ha ha!

I agree, the scrambler market is huge and owned by Ducati and Triumph. Why Harley hasn't made a Scrambler version of the Sportster and the Street Rod is beyond me.

The fact that the author states:

The fender supports were cut off and a rear loop was welded on, similar to a 1974 Honda Elsinore — the first factory-produced dirt bike.
Says volumes about how knowledgeable the Curated Content Editors are.

Even if H-D didn't want to make a bike like this, they could have at least had the accessories available for us to do the conversions ourselves.

My first thought looking at the Street Rod was that it would have made a good starting point for an adventure touring bike, not so much a scrambler. The Sportster and the Street 750 seem to me, at least, to be better suited as scramblers. I was seriously looking at the now discontinued Tuffside conversion for the Street 750.
