Default Looking to replace my stock 883 seat

I recently bought a new 883 and have already discovered one of first upgrades will be a new seat. My butt slides all over the place on the seat. I don't know if it's the design or the type of vinyl used or a combination of both. Any recommendations?

While I don't have a Sporter (YET!) I'm a keen fan of the Mustangs. I put one on my Virago and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I could ride all day on it.

I didn't change out on my V-Star and I get num-bum in like 100 km.

The solo seats are cheaper of course, but either way I would say buy the best seat you can afford. The allure of a cheap price will wear out faster than your comfort will. Mustang is a great seat but retails in the 450-500 range, HD Sundowners look bulky( and are) but are comfortable for sure. Seats is an area where ebay can be your friend if you've got the time and shop smart. I grabbed an HD solo seat for like 60 dollars and it just blew me away how I never was aware of it before how sweet it was. Are you looking solo or 2 up? I may still have that solo seat BTW, I have to go look at some point when I start to put my Christmas away in the garage next week.

Good idea about checking ebay. I'll keep an eye out there.

I currently have the stock HD seat with a passenger pillion. If and when I replace it, I would probably want to go with the same type of setup (i.e. solo with separate passenger pillion for the occasional times I may need it for 2-up riding).

Not quite sure where you are, but there are a couple of seat makers close to you. LePera is in N. Hollywood and C&C Seats in Paramount. Could be worth a ride and see their offerings when you're ready. Might be able to try on some samples. They can also reshape to your liking.

Your dealer should be able to offer alternative seats you can try before you buy. Most dealers have a 'fit center' or similar, to help new owners like you to get comfortable on your new ride. Worth calling by!

The Harley Sundowner seat is pretty comfortable. From everything I have read the Mustang Wide Touring is the most comfortable choice, but I can do 600 mile days on my Sundowner seat so i haven't bothered buying a Mustang.
