Hardtail project.

Nice. I just welded on a hardtail on my buddies 99 XL chopper build and welded up an oil tank from TC Bros. He also switched to chain drive and mounted the oil tank behind the vertical hardtail post. Once mounted he noticed there wasnt enough chain clearance due to the diameter of the oil tank and I had to notch out the bottom of the tank and refabricate it on the chain side to give it clearance. Just a heads up in case you were headed that direction.

I should note its not a design flaw on TC Bro's part. Their stuff has always been great to weld up and made from quality materials. They designed that tank to be tucked up in front of the down section of the hardtail up against the motor but my buddy wanted it mounted towards the back fender as not visually crowd the engine, hence some modification was needed.

So I made a little more headway. The fork lock on these older frames was for pad locks. I cut it off the frame is clean it up some. Still have a little more
cutting and grinding to do.
second thing is the rear fender. Took a front fender off a 2015 softail slim (slight wreck damage to it...meaning the paint was barely scuffed) I cut the mounting points off and am in the process of taking the paint off of it. Liking the look.
I’m seriously debating putting a 19” nightster wheel on it. But dang that 21” is cool looking!
